For those of us who have suffered from a migraine, we know it is not a fun experience nor is it like a normal headache. A migraine contains much more pain that is derived from several sources. At first a migraine sufferer will see an aura which is a nice display of spots and lights within your vision.
Once this aura light show vanishes, the terrible pain will set in. This pain can get so bad that many people often try to find ways in which they can relieve headache pain naturally. This intense pain is coming in from several directions such as the swelling of the brain, the release of certain chemicals, muscle tension, and the blood vessels dilating. Many will often seek out migraine treatment because after a migraine hits, they will have to lie down in a dark and very quiet room and will possibly be out of commission for several days.
One migraine relief remedy which will help to ease the pain one feels with a migraine is biofeedback. This basically is a way in which we can control our body's reaction to stress by utilizing some relaxation therapies. This method trains our brain to react to a negative feeling as though it were reacting to a real feeling and thus tricking it into releasing the hormones that will lessen the pain. Some techniques this method uses are deep breathing, visualization, and meditation.
Acupuncture is another treatment that will help ease the pain. This involves taking several very thin needles and sticking them into your head into the pressure points, which helps to get rid of your pain. While this method does work, many do not want to try this because they are afraid of the needles.
Aromatherapy is further treatment that will help ease migraine pain. This works wonders because your nose is connected directly to your brain. When you smell certain aromas, the smell will travel up to your brain and then it will release hormones that reduce pain.
Myotherapy is an additional treatment that will help ease the horrific pain. This works by another person rubbing our trigger points on our body with their elbows, hands, and fingers. Your trigger points often carry all of the pain for a certain area. So, by rubbing these trigger points, you will alleviate your pain, improve your circulation, and you will relax your muscle spasms.
One more remedy which will help rid your pain is natural treatments. A natural migraine treatment is the best way to treat your pain while you are at home or even on vacation. These natural methods consist of massaging your shoulders and neck, lying down in a dark and quiet room, pressing on the two pressure points on the back of your neck, and placing a cold pack on your neck while your feet soak in warm water.
If you currently suffer from a migraine, you should try to put these methods into use so you can get some migraine relief. To lessen the pain, you should try to use these methods: biofeedback, acupuncture, aromatherapy, myotherapy, and natural treatments. While there is no migraine cure, you can use these techniques to make sure that your next migraine is not as painful.
