If you just think that the Costa Blanca in Spain consists of only lots of concrete hotels and tourists lying on the beach, then think again. By heading away from Benidorm or Alicante and to the north you will find that the landscape and scenery changes. Here the land is mountainous and green and also it here is you will find some really lovely holiday villas in Costa Blanca to rent.
Here in the northern part of the Costa Blanca you will discover some beautiful Spanish villages, where life is much the same as it has been for many decades. Here it is that the villagers stick to their siestas each day and ensure that local customs remain part of their everyday life as well.
In fact, you will often find actually being to rent a holiday villa is reasonably easy as there are many Northern Europeans who have chosen to buy second homes here. It is these people in order to keep their villas well maintained will often rent them out during the times of the year when they are not being used.
The main places where you are going to find villas to rent are in towns such as Denia or in villages in the Orba Valley or the Jalon Valley. All of these can provide you with a base from which you can explore more of what this part of the Costa Blanca has to offer. Plus if you want, you can still travel to the towns of Benidorm and Alicante to enjoy what is on offer there as well. Below we look at what places in the northern part of the Costa Blanca has to offer to its visitors.
The town of Denia has 20 miles of beautiful beaches, which have been awarded a Blue Flag certificate close by where one can just relax and enjoy the sun. However, for those who are looking for a little adventure then why not try some scuba diving in the rocky coves found to the north of the town. Whilst in the town itself you may want to spend sometime exploring the 18th Century Castillo de Denia that looks over the town.
Although the town is very much the same as it has been for many centuries it does offer visits some great shops and cafes. Plus the indoor market is beautiful and almost gives the town a feel like you would find in Nice. In this town, fiestas are a regular occurrence and the biggest one of all that takes place from 22 to 24 June each year is the Hogueras de San Juan.
Another place to look for villas is in the Orba Valley that you need to travel further inland to. But here there are some really atmospheric villages and towns where it seems as if time has stood still. In these villages, you will find the old men sitting out on the streets playing dominoes, and the only time you are likely to spot a woman is if you look up towards their balconies where they will be hanging the washing out.
But whether you select a holiday home on the Costa Blanca coast or further inland you will find something that suits your requirements perfectly. When it comes to holiday villas in Costa Blanca the best place to start your search is by going online. Spend time looking at what is available and comparing each one that you are interested in before you make your booking.
