There are some steps that you should take when considering treatment for an anxiety attack. First find out about the symptoms with a medical professional and make a plan to attack the problem. Only a medical professional can properly diagnose an anxiety attack, and prescribe a treatment for an anxiety attack.
If you are doing anything that may be affecting your anxiety , taking non prescribed pills for example, you must let your Dr know. He won't be shocked and he isn't going to discuss it with your partner or family. The sooner after your anxiety attacks start the sooner you should get to the Dr and the sooner he can start to help you.
Changing medication or diagnosing another disorder can sometimes help cure your panic and anxiety attacks. Make sure your doctor knows all of your medical history and all the symptoms that you are having before he prescribes anything for you.
Your physical health could be causing your anxiety, do you have a heart condition or maybe you suffer from low blood sugar? Maybe you drink enough coffee every day to keep starbucks in profit for a year? These are all physical things that could be the cause of or part of your anxiety attacks.
There are no typical anxiety sufferers, everyone of us is similar in some ways but different in so many other way. The way we live is a huge part of that, if you look after your body you are less likely to suffer from anxiety, it is not a sure thing still but it will definitely help you.
Do you find that anxiety is taking over your life, making it impossible to be the same person you once were. Maybe you used to be known for your sharp appearance and now you can barely be bothered showering, maybe you don't sleep for days on end. Anxiety is taking over your life and you need to start fighting back.
The feelings of guilt that sometimes flow over all of us when we are unable to deal with a situation are perfectly natural. When you let the guilt pile up and add it to the anxiety that you may already be feeling , well that is when you start slipping down the path towards anxiety attacks. Life is not a competition so don't compare yourself to a friend or work colleague that seems to be able to cope with life so much better than you think you can.
You are not the first person to have anxiety attacks and you won't be the last, your Dr has seen people with it before and will be able to direct you to places where you can get help to deal with your anxiety. With the assistance of a Dr you can put your life back together and move forward.
